Dr. Yulianty Kusuma, MD is an Internal Medicine Specialist in Savannah, GA and has over 22 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from Universitas Trisakti, Fakultas Kedokteran medical school in 2000 and a resident at Memorial Hospital. She is affiliated with medical facilities Candler Hospital and Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Roberto Romero, MD
Before joining our team, Dr. Romero served as a Senior Partner with Sound Physicians and worked as a Nocturnist Hospitalist at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA.
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Romero brings more than a decade of medical experience and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to every encounter. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in 2012, completed a transitional year at Hospital San Cristóbal (2013–2014), and—after passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination—finished an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce, Puerto Rico (2015–2018).
Following the devastation of Hurricane María, Dr. Romero made the difficult decision to leave behind loved ones and establish Savannah as his new home.
Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in the management of complex medical conditions, including cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, neurological disorders, chronic endocrine conditions, kidney disease, and more.
What truly distinguishes Dr. Romero is his deep empathy and exceptional communication skills. He has a rare talent for simplifying complex medical concepts, ensuring patients feel informed, respected, and actively involved in their own care. His unwavering commitment to compassionate, individualized medicine aligns perfectly with the values of Internal Medicine of Savannah.
Dr. Romero’s greatest strength lies in treating each patient as a whole person—not just a diagnosis. He provides clear, actionable guidance and leads with kindness in every situation.
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Georgia’s beaches and parks with his wife and children, living by the motto:

Hailey was born and raised here in Savannah. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. She worked at the Candler hospital for 4 years before pursuing a master’s degree in physician assistant from the Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, TN. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Hailey maintains an active lifestyle and loves spending time with her husband and two beautiful babies when she is away from our clinic.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia before moving to Savannah to pursue her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at South University. in her free time, Sule enjoys staying active through running and yoga, and she loves exploring the nature beauty and historic charm that Savannah has to offer. Sule is also fluent in Turkish.
